I finished up my first back to college academic year the second week of June. That week I also moved to a different county for a job opportunity that currently has me working nights 3 times a week. Last year both in November and December, I got to take a plane trip. In November, I traveled to Colorado for a technology conference. In December, I traveled to Arizona to see some family (who were undoubtedly very excited to see me especially with how I left home last year). It's been more than a year since I have left home and I have seen so much and even done so much.
College ended up being a great opportunity (though it's not over yet since I go back to college September 14th week). I even got to move on campus first weekend of January and had several dorm mates. One of them was a baking culinary student so I got to try some really good cakes and desserts.

What I did learn however about experiences or situations is that after a while, I can get feeling burnt out so by the last semester which because of the COVID 19 pandemic, I had no classes in person. I ended up not seeing a lot of people end of March to middle of June. The campus was quiet. I had a job working on campus in the tutoring center as a nursing and technology tutor (though honestly I did not get to help that many students since majority of students were looking for help in the math topics when I was in the center or seemed like a lot of the time I was in the center not too many people even requested help). I got to work in the evenings in the spring term which could get pretty boring since some days I was the only person on site. Because of the pandemic, some of the tutors worked from home and the college encouraged the students to do homework and the such like as well from home. That term we got to utilize Zoom so I have more practice now in how that video conferencing tool works.
My campus happened to be on a very nice piece of land where the day before I ended up leaving to move counties, I went exploring. The campus sits next to a forest type of concept since there was a lake and a bunch of trees. I went in one of the clumps of trees and it really did feel like a forest type of environment.

End of last year, I attended Thanksgiving on campus, I went to Boulder CO middle of November and middle of December I saw the Grand Canyon and Arizona. The trip to Boulder was nice since the flight and the hotel were both free to me. I arrived on a Sunday night. Monday morning I went and saw the Denver Art Museum. Monday evening to Wednesday evening, I had a technology conference that was located in some Google buildings (buildings that were owned by Google and had Google offices inside of them). I went home on Thursday and my flight left early but because of how the North Bend Airport is with only one flight in and out per day, I did not get back to my actual area till Thursday mid-afternoon. December for about a week, I headed over to Arizona and saw my parents and a sister & a brother-in-law I have. We traveled by car to the Grand Canyon and spent a day there.
I am not too sure of how to properly recap my last almost 1.5 years since leaving a state to move to a different state to learn and gain independence other than to say I believe I have figured that lesson out for myself along with taking responsibility. I have learned lessons about myself and even gone through therapy (both campus therapy and a therapy attached to a medical clinic). I have definitely learned therapists are not the same and some are way more helpful than others. I have been diagnosed with several mental conditions...a cognitive disorder, an anxiety disorder, and a mood disorder. I have learned its okay to have emotions and to show them. Also, interestingly enough in the past 4 months, positive memories of my childhood or neutral memories have started coming back. It's interesting since some people block out the not-so-great memories and then some of us block out the positive and the not-so-bad memories. Life is truly a journey of figuring one self out and exploring different career choices (since I am still in Computer Information Systems program and I have an Registered Nurse license). Life is also figuring out there is more to life than just a career.
My career right now is going to college and working for a company as an aide. The job is nice since I even at times get to cook and I even get to go online grocery shopping and menu planning. I have learned yet once again in my life how does working nights affect my body. I am not very good on getting enough sleep actually and when I first started working nights, I was doing pretty well at getting enough sleep or catching up on sleep but now my body is not doing that. Sleeping at nights has always been a bit hard for me but for a couple of weeks, I was doing beautifully sleeping at nights but now, I am waking up way too many times for my liking. During the days where I need to sleep days rather than nights, I am only sleeping 5 or less hours. I feel like I am now chronically low on sleep where the only day I sleep very well is Sunday since I tend to get both a Sunday nap that is 2 hours long and then Sunday night where I get between 10 to 12 hours of sleep with only like one to two times waking up in that period. But besides sleeping issues, I just got to not so much enjoy my pimples...now I have had acne for a long time now. I don't enjoy the bumps that are raised since then I tend to pick at them which can cause a longer healing period and then picking at them usually makes them bleed.
For other things besides career, I do get out and enjoy the weather (except when it is not super bright since ironically around here, the sun can seem so bright at even the evening time). I get to enjoy the fog since I am in a coastal town, which fog is interesting to watch rolling and rolling out. I get to enjoy the rain mists that happen occasionally. The weather here really does not go above 65F I would say. It's nice to not have super hot or super cold weather especially what Arizona can have or California (which is smoky I hear). I do however wish I had air conditioning since I tend to get hot at night and even during the day. Having a fan has been nice.
To wrap up, I would say one important lesson I have learned this year is there is more to life than having a professional life and figuring out what your career choice and life will be and what do you want it to be. I have learned that some friendships are very worth it to keep them and even can help you to see a situation or life in general from a second pair of eyes.
